Scholarship Applications for 2022-23 for Freshman & Transfer Students

Deadline: Feb. 1, 2022
The YumaCats are the University of Arizona Alumni Chapter based in Yuma, Arizona. Our mission is to provide more opportunities for the best and brightest students from our region to be able to attend UA. With funds raised locally, we provide first-year scholarships for Yuma area students attending UA. Scholarship amounts vary, for the 2021-22 academic year they ranged from $1,500 to $7,500. Students ranking within the top 3 of their class are guaranteed a YumaCats scholarship.

YumaCats Freshman Scholarship Requirements:
2022 graduating Senior from any Yuma area High School (Antelope, Cibola, Gila Ridge, Harvest Prep, Kofa, San Luis, Yuma Catholic, Yuma, YPIC, Vista) or who was homeschooled in the Yuma area.
Yuma County Resident
US Citizen or Permanent Resident 
High School Cumulative GPA: 3.5 minimum (unweighted)
Enrolling at UA full-time in Fall 2022

Freshman Scholarship Deadline: February 1, 2022

YumaCats Transfer Student Scholarship Requirements:
Yuma County Resident
US Citizen or Permanent Resident
College Cumulative GPA: 3.0 minimum
Arizona Western College student who has graduated from any Yuma area HS (Antelope, Cibola, Gila Ridge, Harvest Prep, Kofa, San Luis, Yuma Catholic, Yuma, YPIC, Vista) or who was homeschooled in the Yuma area.
Enrolling at UA full-time for the first time in Fall 2022

Transfer Scholarship Deadline: March 14, 2022

Both scholarship applications can be found on UA’s Scholarship Universe. Students must be admitted to UA and have a UA Net ID established to access Scholarship Universe. Three personal references will also be required. Students guides are available for any questions around this process.
